Publisher Terms

Version: 1.0 — this version string is load-bearing: it must match CURRENT_TERMS_VERSION in the registry (src/db/terms.rs). The publish gate records acceptance against this version; bump both together when the terms change so existing publishers are re-prompted.

By publishing to the Memstead registry you agree to these terms. Acceptance is recorded once against your GitHub identity and covers all future publishing under your scope, until these terms change.

1. What you publish

1.1 You warrant that you hold the rights to publish the content you upload — that it is yours or you are otherwise licensed to distribute it — and that publishing it does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.

1.2 You grant the registry a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, and distribute the content you publish, for the purpose of operating the registry (indexing it, serving it to users, and making it installable). This licence ends when the content is removed, except as needed for backups, audit records, and legal compliance.

1.3 You are responsible for the content you publish. The registry is a hosting provider; it does not pre-screen, endorse, or take editorial responsibility for published content.

2. Removal of unlawful content

2.1 Unlawful content is removed without prior notice. On a valid notice that published content is unlawful, the registry will remove it expeditiously. A removed name is retired and cannot be re-published, and the content's bytes may be blocked from re-upload under any name.

2.2 When your content is removed you will receive a statement of reasons (what was removed and why), and you may submit a counter-notice if you believe the removal was mistaken.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the registry to publish or distribute unlawful content, malware, content that infringes others' rights, or content whose distribution is otherwise prohibited by law. Accounts used to repeatedly publish unlawful content may be barred.

4. No warranty; limitation of liability

The registry is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the registry.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes the operator's liability for intent (Vorsatz) or gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), for injury to life, body, or health, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

5. Changes

These terms may change. A material change is published as a new version; you will be asked to accept the new version before your next publish.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Berlin, Germany. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your habitual residence remain unaffected. The registry is operated by the natural person named in the imprint.
